What is Lean Six Sigma?

Lean is a set of tools to identify and eliminate non-essential and non-value added steps in the business process in order to streamline production, improve quality and gain customer loyalty.

Six Sigma is a statistical measure of the performance of a process or a product. The central idea is that if you can measure how many defects you have in a process, you can systematically figure out how to eliminate them and get as close to zero defects as possible. It is a system of management to achieve lasting business leadership and world-class results.

CPG's expectation from LSS

Based on the increasing demands of end users, CPG companies have found that they must create more products, achieve faster time to market and lower operational costs in order to remain competitive and address stockholder concerns.

Considering the trends of CPG industry, the CPG companies would expect the LSS program to be:

• Customer-driven
• Focused on delivering early results
• Not high in investing on capital and resources

Jack Welch" Six Sigma really drives you in the methodology to be one (customer-focus company)."
